Abraham Rittenhouse Home

Abraham Rittenhouse Home Next Stop

This building currently serves as the Historic RittenhouseTown Visitor Center, which has exhibits, a gift shop, a movie room, and an executive office. The original part of the house was built in 1720; over the next two centuries several additions were made. The building served as a Rittenhouse family home over several generations. In the early 20th century, Dr. Mary Ridgway leased the building to use as the Providence General Hospital, where she practiced homeopathic medicine (labeled 206 on map).
