Historic RittenhouseTown Walking Tour
Visitors to Historic RittenhouseTown will be taken on a tour of the buildings
and the grounds. You can catch a quick glimpse of what you will see by
clicking the "Begin Tour" arrow above.
The tour will begin with our acclaimed video, "The Fiber of History." Then
the visitor will be given the opportunity to explore the rest of the exhibits
in the Visitor Center: a timeline of the History of RittenhouseTown, a
working model of an eighteenth century paper mill, and an exhibit on food
in an early German American community. The Gift Shop in the Visitors Center
will be open. Visitors will then be taken on a guided tour of RittenhouseTown.
This tour will include an interpretation of the second mill site, the Rittenhouse
Bakehouse, and the Rittenhouse Homestead. By request tours will also visit
the Enoch Rittenhouse Home. In this building are two exhibits: We Lived
Along the Wissahickon: The Blue Bell Hill Oral History Project and
an 1845 circa period room, which houses many Rittenhouse artifacts. |
